Some parts of central Utah are under a Winter Storm Warning, which is more extreme than an advisory.

Local officials announced that "Code Blue" will be in effect Saturday night in Salt Lake County, which will open more overflow areas providing temporary shelter for people experiencing homelessness. More details can be found in the post below:

The Utah Department of Transportation warned of "High Caution" status for most of the I-15 corridor and beyond, meaning "impaired travel expected."

On Friday morning, many Utahns woke up to their yard covered in a fresh blanket of powder. Plows were out and about, clearing the way for drivers headed out on their morning commute.

Even after the weekend wraps up, a more consistent storm pattern is forming over Utah and it's expected to bring more consistent snow to the state.

On Thursday, Utah got a taste of the wintery action as the skies were dark and a dusting of snow was seen in the northern Utah valleys. Central Utah saw the bulk of Thursday's storm as Cedar City received 4.8 inches from Wednesday to Thursday.
